first time experience with wordpress as self teaching tool

so i am about to finish some notes for a chapter in a book. so far it has been a bit of a headache and i am content it is over, but why you ask? well first thing i am a bit mifted at is wordpress insistance at always putting spaces between every lines but this is not such a big deal, what really gets me is the latex part what works what doesn’t its a bit unerving and I will try to use it as sparingly as possible. anyways i am going to start another entry for a journal i got from a friend to jot down some notes. what would be nice is an offline editor as it takes some time to repost the post, actually what should be done is offline editor or some ajax editor online this would problaly increase the speed alot.
